Lin San Temple was founded by Hakka Shifu Ruixiang who came from Guangdong. In the 1960s, Shifu Ruixiang passed away and his role was taken over by Venerable Seang Heng and Mingzhen Shifu. After this handover, one of their early duties was to rebuild the temple for giving their visitors a peaceful, calm and soothing atmosphere. In the early 1970s, Venerable Seang Heng held a reconstruction ceremony and since then, the temple became popular among believers of Buddha. To bond with other temples, the monastery often invites other monks to conduct Buddhism lessons. Our Venerable Seang Heng also participates in prayer ceremonies held in Kong Meng San. Besides, Lin San Temple also spares no effort to support various charities and public welfare organisations like orphanages, elderly homes and more. We often offer children classes, monthly prayer visits and donations raised on Vesak Day.
Due to road safety concerns, Lin San Temple has to be rebuilt once again as the foundation has been impacted by nearby constructions. Thanks to the support of various parties, we manage to raise some funding to start our reconstruction and give people a better environment.
